Although, the name suggests that it is a political club, the main purpose of the club is as a social club where local people can come and enjoy all the facilities in a comfortable and safe environment.

The club was established in 1978 by members of the Portsmouth North Conservative Party as a local place for like minded people to get together socially. The founder members purchased the property, which was previously ‘Millies Cafe’ and with the help of all the initial members, refurbished the property themselves and so the Cosham Conservative Club was opened.

The club is run by an Executive Committee, the members of which are elected by all Club Members. This consists of the Club President, the Vice-President, the Club Chairman,the Vice-Chairman and also the Executive Committee members. The Club is managed on a daily basis by the Club Steward, Jeff, and Club Secretary, Shirley Miller.
